Those who have completed either “Foreclosure: Prevention and Opportunities for Buyer-Clients” or “Short Sales and Foreclosures: What Buyer’s Representatives Need to Know” are well on their way to meeting the education requirements of this certification. To ensure that all real estate professionals with the SFR certification have the same baseline training, students who completed either of the above courses will be provided with a supplemental Webinar. The supplemental Webinar will count as a full Webinar toward the SFR certification.

I’m not sure if the foreclosure or short sales class I took previously was from REBAC. How can I tell?

Contact REBAC; our Member Service Team will be happy to help you. You can reach REBAC by phone at 1-800-648-6224. Member Service Representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST. You may also contact REBAC via e-mail at REBAC@realtors.org.

I have substantial education and/or experience in short sales and foreclosures. Can I test out of all the requirements of NAR’s SFR certification?

While we are encouraged that individuals bring considerable education and experience as prospective students to NAR’s SFR certification program, it is not possible to test out of the program’s requirements. We need to ensure that everyone who earns NAR’s SFR certification has the same core or baseline education from the National Association of REALTORS®. As you know, NAR's SFR certification is the only training program for real estate professionals recognized and endorsed by NAR. It is therefore essential that all students complete course training from NAR.
